Sunday’s are a bit boring.
As much as everyone says it’s the day of rest there’s only so many times you can put your feet up without getting a bit restless. Wasting your Sunday is so easy to do; I’ve spent many an hour just scrolling on social media or watching TV till all of a sudden the whole day is gone and its Monday again.
But not anymore. It’s high time we put those spare hours to good use and do something with our Sundays. And I know just the things to do.
1 Go for a walk
Autumn is the perfect time to get out of the house and go exploring. Jacket weather is upon us and now the sweaty heat of summer has disappeared we can finally do mild exercise without feeling the need to take an immediate shower. Go to a nearby park or just discover new parts of the town you’ve lived in for years. You could even take the dog with you.
2 Spruce up your bedroom
Tidy room, tidy mine. Organising your space will not only make it look better but you’ll feel better in it too. Utilise your spare time and give your room a once around with the duster. You could even go a step further and rearrange some furniture, hang a few lights or move some pictures around.
3 Catch up on work in bed
Get comfy and get to work. While no one likes bringing the office home, you may as well make the best situation out of it and do it in bed. Make yourself a cuppa and cuddle up to your blankets and before you know it your work will be done.
4 Have a Sunday roast
Whether you cook it yourself or go for a carvery, a Sunday lunch is essential in having the perfect day. Stodgy enough to fill you but light enough not to slow you down, having your meat and two veg is an important ritual that can make your average Sunday into a better one.
5 Plan a holiday
You don’t even have to go. But planning out your dream holiday might give you a motivational boost as you head into the moody Mondays. Look at different destinations and inspire yourself to do well and get there someday.
6 Deep condition your hair
You will never regret a good hair mask.
7 Grab coffee with a friend
While the shops aren’t busy and the streets are empty, why not catch up with an old friend over a cupa’joe. Meet up with your gal pals and have a gossip or see someone you’ve not seen in a while. An afternoon can fly by when you’re having fun with friends.
8 Go for a “nooner”
Morning sex is good and all, but day sex is where it’s at. So grab your partner, or maybe just a sex toy, and treat yo self to some afternoon delight.
9 Organise your week
Get out your calendar and address book, it’s time to get busy. Preparing for the next seven days will save you a lot of stress in the future and will ensure you don’t miss that important meeting with your boss or those files that need to be done ASAP.
10 Take a long bath
After all is said and done, after the dinners, the socialising and all the plans have been made, end the day with a soak in the tub. Take your time, bring a glass of wine and just let yourself relax. After the week you’ve had, you deserve it.
